Today, a report announced that Ryan Coogler’s upcoming X-Files reboot has gotten a pilot order at Hulu. The reboot’s logline is: “Two highly decorated but vastly different FBI agents form an unlikely bond when they are assigned to a long-shuttered division devoted to cases involving unexplained phenomena.”  Danielle Deadwyler (The Woman in the Yard) has been cast in the first co-lead role alongside an uncast male co-star. It’s unknown whether Agent Mulder (David Duchovny) and Agent Scully (Gillian Anderson) are alive in this universe, or if it will be a completely original one. Ryan Coogler (Black Panther, Sinners) will write, direct, and produce the pilot under his Proximity Media production banner. Jennifer Yale will serve as showrunner going forward.

The X-Files reboot has no set release date.
