A24 Acquires ‘Texas Chainsaw Massacre’ Rights with a Film & TV Show In Development

A24 has acquired the rights to the Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise.

Today, a report announced that A24 has acquired the rights to the Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise. A24 had already been in the slasher genre, developing the Friday the 13th TV show Crystal Lake. The studio is already developing both a TV series and a new movie. The series will be produced by actor Glenn Powell and Spooky Pictures. Screenwriter JT Mollner (The Long Walk) is attached to direct the series. The film will also be under this new producing group. The last film was in 2022, but it was filmed during the COVID-19 pandemic, which severely limited the actors.
