Marvel Studios is releasing Avengers: Endgame Encore as an upcoming re-release event ahead of Avengers: Doomsday hitting theaters this December. The event was first revealed at San Diego Comic-Con, inviting fans to come together again to experience the end of the Infinity Saga as they did in 2019. However, this time, additional scenes would be added for fans that lead directly into Doomsday. Be aware that normal screenings of Encore include only one scene, while IMAX/Infinity Vision screenings include all the scenes.

The additional scenes added to the end of Avengers: Endgame include Loki (played by Tom Hiddleston) visiting Steve Rogers (played by Chris Evans) and Peggy Carter (played by Hayley Atwell) in the 1950’s. This version of Loki would be from between seasons 1 and 2 of the Loki Disney+ series, as he is still a TVA agent and not the God of Time. The second scene shows TVA agents Mobius (played by Owen Wilson), O.B. (played by Ke Huy Quan), and Casey (played by Eugene Cordero) viewing the multiverse timeline as two Earths launch missiles at each other. The two Earths, declaring war on each other, are expected to be the X-Men Earth (Earth-10005) and Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man Earth (Earth-1127), setting up the opening battle of Avengers: Doomsday. Then, without warning, the TVA shows that up to 3,000 other Earths begin to die across the timeline. The Earths destroyed within the multiverse could be Marvel films from the past, including the 1999 Blade, 2003 Hulk, 2005 Fantastic Four, 2015 Fan4stic, 2003 Daredevil & Elektra, or 2007 Ghost Rider. This could also include the infamous Sony-Marvel Universe made famous by Venom, Madame Web, and Kraven the Hunter films.
The first post-credit scene features Dr. Bruce Banner (played by Mark Ruffalo) alone in an underground laboratory following the events of Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The actor recently shot this scene for this film’s release. Banner begins talking about a new discovery, and Doctor Doom (offscreen) immediately attacks his laboratory, abducts Banner, and leaves a glowing green rune on the ground. Many fans think this is confirmation that the Hulk will return for Avengers: Doomsday. In reality, it explains why he won’t be in the film. Doom has secretly removed the Hulk from the equation before he begins his plan of taking over the multiverse. It also explains why Mark Ruffalo wasn’t on set last year, as he was filming Brand New Day with Tom Holland. It should be expected that Banner is rescued and the Hulk released in Avengers: Secret Wars.
Finally, the last post-credit scene is Doctor Doom (played by Robert Downey Jr.) using a hammer to build his iconic mask. Many fans have wondered whether he will ever remove his mask and whether all of Earth-616 recognizes that he “looks” like Tony Stark, even if he is disfigured. That said, unless the film added it through additional photography this past summer, Doom never removes his mask in front of any Marvel character but us, the audience.
