Recently, a report announced that actress Rina Sawayama will return for the upcoming John Wick spin-off movie Caine. She will reprise her role of Akira Shimazu, the daughter of Hiroyuki Sanada’s Koji Shimazu. She first appeared in John Wick 4 and is on a revenge mission after her father’s death. Caine producer Chad Stahelski adds: “Rina is such a badass. I love what she did with this role in Chapter 4 and can’t wait to see her cross paths with Caine once again.” The film will be directed and star Donnie Yen as Caine, with a screenplay by Mattson Tomlin. Production begins later this year in Hong Kong.
