Today, a report has announced that the long-rumored heist film Ocean’s 14 will be moving forward with George Clooney and Brad Pitt returning. The last movie, Ocean’s 13, was released in 2007 with an ensemble cast. However, after the final film was released, comedian Bernie Mac passed away in 2008 and put a hold on all future sequels (via Entertainment Weekly).

Instead, Ocean’s 8, a female-centric film that focused on Danny Ocean’s long-forgotten sister, Debbie Ocean, was released in 2018 but met with disdain from critics and fans alike. A prequel Ocean film has also been rumored to star Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling as Danny Ocean’s art thief parents in the 1960s, though that has yet to begin production. It’s unknown if this new film will reference either of those spin-offs or pretend they never happened. All Quiet On The Western Front director Edward Berger is set to take over directing duties from Steven Soderbergh. Though he has yet to officially sign on.

Ocean’s 14 has no set release date
