Several news reports have been released about the upcoming season premiere of Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power season 2. A recent report confirms that a second Hobbit-esque ancestor will be introduced in the show: the Stoors. Like the Harfoots, they were once nomadic people settling in a desert oasis within Rhûn. “The stoors’ ancestry at some point was nomadic. But over the years, we as a group have settled, and that has become our culture, to look after one another.”, added Tanya Moodie, who plays the stoors’ community leader Gundabel. Tolkien mentions three sets of Hobbit ancestors in his original novels, including the Harfoots, Stoors, and the yet-to-be-announced Fallohides.

The Rings of Power returns to Prime Video on August 29th
