Today, a report announced that Brad Caleb Kane has taken over showrunning duties on A24’s upcoming Friday the 13th series Crystal Lake. Original showrunner Bryan Fuller announced in May that he was stepping away from the series as production was only a few months away from the beginning in Toronto. Moving forward, Kane will now be listed as a series creator and head writer. The series is the first live-action adaption of a Friday the 13th property since the 2009 reboot film. However, this series is expected to follow Pamela Voorhees, Jason’s mother, before his time tormenting the teenagers at Crystal Lake.
