Apple TV+ Announces ‘Monarch’ Season 2 Is Coming

Today, Apple TV+ announced that Monarch: Legacy of Monsters season 2 will come from the Monsterverse. The series was met with positive reviews, scoring 89% on Rotten Tomatoes. It also featured the breakout Japanese star Anna Sawai before she stepped into the lead role of this year’s Shogun. The original season occurred between 2014s Godzilla and Godzilla: King of the Monsters, and the plotline is directly tied to Kong: Skull Island.  Fans and critics praised the writing as the series was toted as a true spin-off set within the film franchise. The announcement also confirmed that more spin-off shows are developing on the streaming network but have yet to be revealed. Chris Black and Matt Fraction will return as showrunners and co-creators.
