Last week, the 10th installment of Fast & Furious hit screens for Universal Pictures. The film showcased the return of Dwayne Johnson as fan-favorite Luke Hobbs after the actor had on-set disagreements with co-star Vin Diesel during The Fate of the Furious in 2018. This lead the actor to exit the franchise but not before doing the spin-off Hobbs & Shaw. Now, Diesel recently teased that the planned Fast X and Fast 11 films would be split into a trilogy.

However, it looks like this standalone film starring Dwayne Johnson as Luke Hobbs will be the third film in the finale, according to The Wrap. The film is set between Fast X and Fast 11 (basically Fast 10.5) and will not be a sequel to Hobbs & Shaw. Longtime Fast and Furious scribe Chris Morgan returns for this standalone film. No director is attached, but Johnson will also produce under his Seven Bucks Production banner.
