Today, The Hollywood Reporter announced that Amazon Studios is close to closing a deal to acquire the rights to Warhammer 40,000. The D&D-style board game features humans 40 thousand years into the future as they battle gods, demons, and aliens.

The report states that Henry Cavill is attached to star in the series as he has long been a fan of the board game. This comes after Cavill left The Witcher and was not asked to return as Superman over the last several months. No writers or director has been attached to the upcoming project.

Warhammer 40k has no set release date
