HBO Max Passes On ‘John Constantine’ and ‘Madame X’ Reboot Shows

A brand new Constantine sequel film was recently announced with returning star Keanu Reeves. Producer JJ Abrams and his Bad Robot production company were announced to produce the new film. Many fans had wondered what this would mean for the reboot John Constantine series rumored to star Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù, a Black actor from England.

According to TV Line, HBO Max has passed on this John Constantine reboot series. As well as pass on the previously rumored Madame Xanadu series that was eventually going to lead into a Justice League Dark project. We at Knight Edge Media revealed in March that John Constantine was already deep into casting for the lead roles including Astra. While the shows have theoretically been canceled, Warner Brothers-Discovery head David Zaslav is open to shopping projects around to other studios or streaming services. According to The Hollywood Reporter, he already looks to sell off significant licensed assets to other studios in the interim.
