Today, a recent listing on IMDB and later the actor confirmed on Instagram that longtime actor Natheninal Arcand had joined the cast of Avatar: The Last Airbender on Netflix. Arcand is best known for appearing on FBI: Most Wanted, as well as The Revenant and Longmire. He is of Indigenous Cree descent living in Canada. Arcand will play Chief Arnook of the Northern Water Tribe and the father of Princess Yue (played by Amber Midthunder). Set to appear in episodes 7 & 8 of the series. In the original series, he prays to the Moon Spirit to give a sleeping baby Yue life but knew one day she would give her life for the Moon Spirit in return.

Our friends at Avatar News also announced that actor Meegwun Fairbrother has joined the ensemble cast as Avatar Kuruk. Fairbrother is of Indigenous Ojibway descent. He is best known for roles in Hemlock Grove and Mohawk Girls. We at Knight Edge Media revealed earlier this year Avatar Kuruk would be making an appearance in the upcoming live-action series. He is expected to appear in episodes 7 & 8 and will warn Aang of the incoming Fire Nation attack on the Northern Water Tribe. In the original series, he is the easy-going Avatar preceding Avatar Kyoshi (played by Yvonne Chapman). Not much happens with him in the world before Koh steals the face of his love. Eventually, he dies a very young Avatar due to his recklessness. Production ended in mid-June on the series.
