Director Dean Fleischer-Camp Takes Over Disney’s ‘Lilo & Stitch’ Live-Action Remake

Today, Deadline announced director Dean Fleischer-Camp will helm the upcoming live-action adaption of Lilo & Stitch. Chris Kekaniokalani Bright was also tapped to pen the script. In 2020, director Jon M. Chu was tapped to direct but is hard at work adapting Wicked from a broadway play into two films.

Fleischer-Camp has been making big waves lately with his recent film Marcel The Shell With Shoes On set to be released. The film has been getting massive praise from its early test screenings. The film will follow a young South Pacific girl and her older sister as they try to protect an alien from another world. Dakota Fanning originally voiced Lilo in the animated film.
