Several months ago, Discussing Film revealed that director Jon Watts was in talks to develop a new Star Wars series for Lucasfilm. During Vanity Fair’s recent spread of all upcoming Star Wars projects on Disney+, they confirm he will indeed be working on an untitled project for Lucasfilm. The series will be set after Return of the Jedi with a “very 1980s Amblin feel to it”, much like Stranger Things on Netflix. This all comes off the director exiting the Fantastic Four reboot at Marvel. The director is still expected to return to the studio to work on a new Spider-Man college trilogy with star Tom Holland.
