Following the events of Marvel Studios Eternals, Dane Whitman (played Kit Harington) confronts his family’s heirloom the Ebony Blade. Off-screen he is met by the daywalker himself Blade (voiced by Mahershala Ali) before touching the Ebony blade. While many assumed this mid-credit scene was simply to set up Blade it may go deeper than that for Dane Whitman’s character in the larger Marve Cinematic Universe.

Our friends Daniel Ritchman revealed on his Patreon that a casting call has gone out for an untitled Marvel Studios feature film but we at Knight Edge Media have learned it was for Blade. The three roles that the studio are casting include Huntley, Abid, and Faiza

[ HUNTLEY ]
40s-60s, Formidable and overly sophisticated, most people think he takes himself too seriously. Must be an extremely agile and versatile physical performer with distinguished dramatic and comedic chops. Theater, dance, and performance art professionals welcome to submit. Strong Supporting.

[ ABID ]
20s-30s, male, South Asian. Strong, burly, and lightweight. Though he’s taken a vow of silence, his eyes tell us he has been through strife. Actor must be open to training period beforehand. Actors with fight experience are encouraged to submit. Strong Supporting.

[ FAIZA ]
20s-40s, female, North African, speaks French. She’s a tough and agile fighter with a strong presence and drive. A talker who doesn’t back down. Must be open to training period beforehand. Actors with fight experience are encouraged to submit. Supporting.

In the comics, Faiza Hussain is a Muslim woman and wielder of Excaliber (her eventual codename). The ancient King Arthur sword was referenced in Eternals as well. She is a romantic love interest of Dane Whitman as well as living in London at the same time. It’ll be interesting with the many connections between Dane Whitman and Blade if Kit Harington will return for the film as his alter-ego The Black Knight. The film will be directed by upcoming director Bassam Tariq and a screenplay from Stacy Osei-Kuffour. Production will begin in August and run through December in Atlanta.
