Today, our friends over at Geeks World Wide revealed that Marvel Studios has decided to move forward with a Thunderbolts film. Thunderbolts was first suggested by director James Gunn right after Guardians of the Galaxy debuted in 2014. The director instead moved on to direct The Suicide Squad for DC Comics. The Thunderbolts have also been the team many fans theorize Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (played by Julia Louis-Dreyfus) is piecing together after Black Widow and Falcon And The Winter Soldier. So far, she has shown up to speak with John Walker (played by Wyatt Russell) and Yelena Belova (played by Florance Pugh). According to the report, production is expected to begin sometime in 2023. Other possible members include Baron Zemo, Taskmaster, Ghost, Hawkeye, or even General Ross

Recently, we have heard rumors that actors from Daredevil are expected to be reintroduced into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Fans have suggested that Jon Bernthal should be considered to return as The Punisher. We at Knight Edge Media wrote in 2020 that Kevin Feige has grown to like some of the castings from the Netflix shows including Jon Bernthal. The actor recently mentioned that Frank Castle has a special place in his heart if he was ever asked to return. A Thunderbolts project would be the perfect place for the actor’s reintroduction as the character has been a member in the past. No writer or director has been attached to the project just yet.

Thunderbolts has no set release date
