i may destroy you

Today, Variety announced that actress Michaela Coel has joined the ensemble cast of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Production on the sequel began last month and is expected to be a massive love letter to the late Chadwick Boseman who passed away last year. The film was rewritten by director Ryan Coogler to honor Boseman as the mantle of Black Panther is passed on or retired in the MCU. Kevin Feige also made it clear they would not recast T’Challa going forward as well. It’s unknown what role Coel will play but some fans have suggested either the introduction of Storm or Madame Slay. She joins Danai Gurira, Letitia Wright, Daniel Kaluuya, Winston Duke, Lupita Nyong’o, Florence Kasumba, and Angela Bassett who will all return from the original film.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever hits theaters July 8th, 2022
