Walt Disney Studios Puts ‘Cruella’ Sequel Into Early Development

Today, The Hollywood Reporter announced that Disney has already put into early development a sequel to Cruella. The Disney villain film debut last week in theaters and Disney+ with massive critical praise. The film stars Emma Stone in the title role as she changes from sweet fashion designer Estella to anarchist artist Cruella in 1970’s punk London.

The film’s mid-credit scene does set up 101 Dalmations but it’s unknown if this sequel will still take place before those films. Director Craig Gillespie and screenwriter Tony McNamara are expected to return for the sequel. It’s unknown if Emma Stone will return as the anti-hero.
