Earlier this week, it was announced that Johnny Depp had exited the Fantastic Beasts franchise. This comes off the news that he lost a libel lawsuit with The Sun newspaper over abuse claims from his ex-wife Amber Heard. Johnny Depp was revealed to be the sorcerer Grindelwald at the end of the first film. He returned for the second film and just completed filming one scene on the third since September. Many hope that Warner Brothers considered bringing Collin Ferrall back as Grindlewald. Since he played the character in disguise for the entire first film before revealing to be secretly Johnny Depp.

Johnny Depp was also rumored to appear in the upcoming spin-off Pirates of the Caribbean films alongside Margot Robbie or Karen Gillian as the infamous Jack Sparrow. However, that is now also up in the air at Disney after the abuse claims from Amber Heard came to light.
