Earlier this week, Deadline announced that director Tim Burton is going to produce a new live-action Addams Family TV Series. Burton joins Smallville producers Alfred Gough and Miles Millar who will write and showrun the project. This marks Burton’s first step into television as he looks to direct the entire series. The series is expected to follow from the perspective of Wednesday Addams in the 21st century. Burton was previously attached to co-write and direct a rebooted film for Universal before it was canceled.

Many fans have fancast Oscar Issac (Star Wars) and Eva Green (Penny Dreadful) for the roles of Gomez & Morticia Addams for several years. With Issac providing the voice of Gomez in the 2019 animated feature film. However, with the casting of Marvel’s Moon Knight, Issac may not have time to be even considered for the Addams Family.
