Egyptian Director Mohamed Diab Tapped To Helm Marvel Studios ‘Moon Knight’ Disney+ Series

Today, Deadline announced that Egyptian filmmaker Mohamed Diab has been tapped to helm the entire Moon Knight Disney+ series. This comes off yesterday’s announcement that Star Wars star Oscar Isaac has been tapped to play the iconic hero.

Marc Spector, a mercenary who has numerous alter egos — cabbie Jake Lockley and millionaire playboy Steven Grant — to fight the criminal underworld better. Most recently, the character was a consultant who dresses in all-white and goes by the name Mr. Knight.

Moon  Knight receives his crimefighting skills from the Egyptian Moon-god Khonshu. It’s impressive that Marvel has specifically gotten a native Egyptian filmmaker to helm the project. Moon Knight is being written and showrun by Jeremy Slater. Kevin Feige is overseeing all the Disney+ shows as they are expected to crossover into the films at a certain point. Production on Moon Knight begins next month…
