‘Nova’ Project In Development at Marvel Studios

Fans have been clamoring to see if Richard Rider was going to make his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut while fighting Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War. In earlier drafts of the script, Nova was expected to be the last survivor of Xandar after Thanos decimated it for the Power stone. He was going to be the “herald” that informed The Avengers that Thanos was coming (much like Silver Surfer in the comics). However, that idea was scrapped for Hulk/Bruce Banner to inform The Avengers. Nova was also expected to cameo in 2014’s Guardians of the Galaxy with concept art released on the character but that idea was also scrapped.

Now our friends over at The Illuminerdi have revealed the character will finally get his own project. According to their report, Nova will either get his own Disney+ series or film to flesh out the character. With all the recent projects in development at Marvel for the new Disney streaming service. A mini-series would make more sense for this type of character. Either way, Richard Rider is coming…
