Today, Variety announced that actor Finn Wittrock is the first cast member to join the Green Lantern HBO Max series. Wittrock is best known for his role in American Horror Story. He joins as fan-favorite Lantern Guy Gardner. Gardner is described as a hulking 1980’s patriot that is somehow also extremely likable.

Casting has been going on since early last December when we at Knight Edge Media revealed several audition tapes for the other Lanterns including Alan Scott  (Casting is almost done on him), Bree Jarta, Simon Baz, and Jessica Cruz. We also recently revealed that casting has begun for Sinestro. The series will take place over several time periods as an anthology series on the streaming service. Greg Berlanti will produce with Marc Guggenheim helping write the project. This will be the most expensive project Berlanti has ever helped produce.

Green Lantern will stream exclusively on HBO Max
