Today, a new report announced that director Christopher McQuarrie has begun early development on a Battlefield live-action movie alongside Electronic Arts. McQuarrie is best known for directing the last four Mission: Impossible films and helping write Top Gun: Maverick. This news comes out after Paramount Pictures began development on its video game adaptation of Call of Duty. Michael B. Jordan is attached to star in the film for the studio after his work on Sinners. Jesse Stern of Electronic Arts, Carter Swan of Emerald Neon, Roy Lee and Miri Yoon of Vertigo, and Elizabeth Raposo of Outlier Society will all produce the live-action movie. The film will be shopped to the major studios, Sony Pictures, or Apple.
