Today, a report announced that a Jack Ryan movie is in devlopment based on the Prime Video series starring John Krasinski. The new film will be a spin-off from the series that ended its run with last year’s fourth season. Krasinski will return as Jack Ryan alongside Wendell Pierce (The Wire) and Michael Kelly (The Penguin). Season 2 director Andrew Bernstein will helm the film with a screenplay by season four writer Aaron Rabin.
It’s unknown if this Jack Ryan will be connected to the long in development Rainbow Six feature film. After appearing in Without Remorse on Prime Video, Michael B. Jordan is expected to return in Rainbow Six as John Clark. In the novels, Jack Ryan is the President following his time as the CIA, which forms the Rainbow Six spec ops team, with Clark leading. This film could bridge the gap between the series and feature films. Krasinski is the fifth actor to play the character after Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford, Ben Affleck, and Chris Pine.
