Today, Chris Evans officially announced he will be returning as Steve Rogers in Avengers: Secret Wars. While speaking to @comicconmomsi on Instagram, the longtime Captain America actor reveals he begins filming Avengers: Secret Wars in several months, ︀︀“I can tell you that I start work on the next one in a couple of months. I can’t tell you how much I’m in the next one, but I’m in it.” Evans’ return as Steve Rogers was initially kept under wraps for Avengers: Doomsday before appearing in the first teaser trailer last December. It’s rumored that Rogers’s time-traveling to the 1950’s to spend the rest of his life with Peggy Carter is what kick-starts an incursion that ultimately kills Doctor Doom’s family. It’s unknown how Steve Rogers fits into the universe after Battleworld is created post-Doomsday.
Avengers: Secret Wars is currently slated to hit theaters on December 17th, 2027
