Walt Disney, in association with 20th Century Fox, will release AVATAR: Fire and Ash into theaters later this week. During screenings of the mega James Cameron film, a short teaser for Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday will be shown. The teaser will be the first of four that will play with screenings of AVATAR: Fire and Ash over the next month. This first trailer features and confirms that Chris Evans will indeed return as Steve Rogers in the multiversal team-up movie Avengers: Doomsday. He was actually already rumored to return in December 2024, before the cast was even announced in April 2025, though his name was noticeably absent from the official list.

Spoilers Ahead
The teaser trailer shows Rogers returning to his life with Peggy Carter on a motorcycle following the events of Avengers: Endgame. The Avengers theme is played on the piano in the background. The next shot reveals Rogers at home, holding his newborn son, and ends with a countdown timer to the movie’s release. According to online rumors, Doctor Doom explicitly hates Steve Rogers because, by returning to the past to live out his life with Peggy, he set off a ripple effect that destroyed the entire multiverse. It’s unknown how this chain of events personally affects Doom, but Steve Rogers is to blame. However, this is still just a rumor.
Avengers: Doomsday is slated to hit theaters on December 18th, 2026
