Scream 7 was released in theaters over a month ago and has become the highest-grossing Scream movie of the franchise. While it has an extremely weak 31% on Rotten Tomatoes, it has still passed $200 million at the worldwide box office for Paramount Pictures. The studio is already in early development on another sequel. According to a report, Lilla and Nora Zuckerman have boarded the horror franchise to pen Scream 8. They took over from original Scream writer Kevin Williamson, who returned to write the seventh film. The Zukerman Sisters are best known for showrunning the Peacock original series Poker Face. They also worked on shows like Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Suits, and Fringe in the early 2010’s. Production is expected to begin later this year.
