Today, a new report has announced that Sony Pictures has begun early development on an Astro Boy live-action movie. The classic manga was turned into an animated film back in 2009. The report mentions Jason Reitman (Ghostbusters: Afterlife, Saturday Night) and Gil Kenan (Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire) are attached to the project, but not as the writer or director. Though either one could board as a director later on. No one has been cast for the film at this point either.
