Today, a new report has announced that screenwriter Christina Hodson has been tapped to pen the DC Studios Batman: The Brave and the Bold feature film. The writer’s revelation has long been a closely guarded secret by co-head James Gunn for several years. Now, we have learned that Gunn has brought over Hodson from the previous DC Cinematic Universe to work in his rebooted DC universe. Hodson is best known for penning Birds of Prey, Bumblebee, the unreleased Batgirl, and, most recently, The Flash starring Ezra Miller.

She will now be re-teaming with director Andy Muschietti (IT, The Flash) on this new version of Batman, completely separate from the Matt Reeves Batman trilogy already in the works, starring Robert Pattinson. The film was first announced during James Gunn and Peter Safran’s slate announcement in 2023, but has been pushed back several times. After Gunn’s high praise for The Flash movie, this hiring is pretty uninspiring. No casting has been announced for Bruce Wayne or Damian Wayne.
