Today, a new report reveals that actors Ólafur Darri Ólafsson and Max Parker are in talks to join Prime Video’s God of War live-action TV series. Ólafsson is best known for his role in The Last Witch Hunter, and Parker has appeared in Peacock’s Vampire Academy.

As previously reported, the live-action adaptation will start with the 2018 video game, which takes place years after Kratos has defeated the gods of Olympus and now lives quietly in Midgard. Here, he meets the Norse gods and, hopefully, has flashbacks to his time fighting the Greek gods. Ólafsson is up for the role of a chubby version of Thor Odinson, and Parker is up for the role of Baldur. We at Knight Edge Media have also learned that Kratos and his son, Atreus, have already been cast but have yet to be revealed. Production begins March 6th, 2026, and runs until April 7th, 2027, in Vancouver, Canada, under the working title Anaheim Realm.
God of War will stream exclusively on Prime Video
