Amazon Releases First Look at ‘God of War’ as Production Begins

Prime Video released the very first image from the upcoming God of War live-action TV series featuring Kratos and Atreus.

Today, Prime Video released the very first image from the upcoming God of War live-action TV series. The image features co-leads Kratos (Ryan Hurst) and Atreus (Callum Vinson) as they hunt in Midgard following the 2018 video game. The rest of the cast includes Ed Skrein as Baldur, Max Parker as Heimdall, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson as Thor, Teresa Palmer as Sif, Alastair Duncan as Mimir, Jeff Gulka as Sindri, Danny Woodburn as Brok, and Mandy Patinkin as Odin. The streaming service has already confirmed that the series will film the first two seasons back-to-back. Production is now underway in Vancouver under the working title Anaheim Realm from showrunner Ronald D. Moore (Battlestar Galactica). It will run for a full year without stopping, until April 2027.

God of War is expected to hit Prime Video sometime in late 2027
