The character has long been rumored to be a future villain, and director James Gunn will be bringing him to life in his Superman sequel. The report mentions that the shortlist is not the complete list and that the studio is only looking at a few names they have heard. The list includes Matt Smith (Morbius, House of the Dragon), Sam Rockwell (Iron Man 2), and Claes Bang (Netflix’s Dracula). Official casting should be announced soon, as production is expected to begin sometime in 2026.
