‘The Legend of Aang’ Movie Taps Steve Ahn as Co-Director

Steve Ahn has joined Avatar Studios’ upcoming feature film, The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender, as co-director.

Today, we at Knight Edge Media have learned that Steve Ahn has joined Avatar Studios’ upcoming feature film, The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender, as co-director. He joins previously announced co-directors Lauren Montgomery and William Mata. Ahn was previously the “Head of Story” on the feature film after working on The Legend of Korra, Book 3 and 4. He also directed several episodes of Voltron: Legendary Defender and Star Trek Prodigy. You can view much of his artwork over at ArtStation. The voice cast includes Eric Nam (Transplant, Saturday Night Live Korea) as Aang, Jessica Matten (Dark Winds) as Katara, Román Zaragoza (Ghosts) as Sokka, Dionne Quan (The Fairly OddParents, All Grown Up) as Toph, and Steven Yeun (Invincible) as Firelord Zuko. Dave Bautista (Guardians of the Galaxy) will also appear in the film as an unknown villain.

The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender hits theaters on October 9th, 2026
