Earlier today, we at Knight Edge Media discovered a recent copyright listing for the Mr. Terrific project. The listing was dated July 16, 2025, several days after his cameo appearance in James Gunn’s Superman. Edi Gathegi played the character and received much praise for his scene-stealing dialogue in the film. The listing was made under several classifications, including “Motion Pictures, Literature, and Toys.” The motion picture classification could also refer to a full-length feature film or television show, but it is not specific. In addition to a possible future comic book series and toy line, given the renewed interest in the character. This all comes off The Wall Street Journal‘s reporting on a possible HBO Max spin-off project.

It should be noted that director Ryan Coogler recently met with James Gunn to discuss a possible future project following the success of his recent Warner Bros. vampire film, Sinners (via Superhero Hype!). Coogler is still currently attached to write and direct Black Panther 3 for Marvel Studios, but is expected to return to WB following that film. The project has yet to be officially announced by DC Studios.
