Today, a slew of actors joined the ever-growing cast of HBO’s upcoming reboot TV series of Harry Potter. The report announced that Lox Pratt and Johnny Flynn have joined as the pureblood wizard antagonists of Draco and Lucius Malfoy. The roles were made famous by Tom Felton and Jason Isaacs in the original 2000s movies. Felton has also recently been announced to return to the role in the stage production of Harry Potter and The Cursed Child (via Variety).
Bel Powley and Daniel Rigby have joined the cast as Harry’s aunt and uncle, Petunia and Vernon Dursley. Katherine Parkinson has also joined as fan-favorite mother, Molly Weasley. Bertie Carvel has a minor role as Cornelius Fudge, the Minister for Magic. Finally, several minor classmates of Harry, Ron, and Hermione have been cast, including Leo Earley as Seamus Finnigan, Alessia Leoni as Parvati Patil, and Sienna Moosah as Lavender Brown. Production is set to begin this summer in Leavesden, UK.
