Today, a report announced that Walt Disney has paused developing a Tangled live-action remake. The film has been developing since 2020, but only recently did director Michael Gracey board the project with a screenplay by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson. Unfortunately, the studio released Snow White, and critics have butchered it. Thus, they are now rethinking their live-action remake strategy. It hasn’t been all bad for the studio as they did great with Mufasa: The Lion King last December and still have two more films ready to be released, Moana and Lilo & Stitch. Multiple actors and singers have been rumored for the role of Rapunzel, including Florence Pugh, Taylor Swift, and Sabrina Carpenter. It’s unknown whether the film will ever get the cameras rolling.

Tangled has no set release date
