Today, a report announced that Michael Sarnoski has been tapped to write and direct the upcoming Death Stranding live-action movie. Sarnoski is best known for directing hits like Pig and last year’s A Quiet Place: Day One. Original video game developer Kojima Productions announced the film in partnership with A24 in 2023.

A catastrophic series of events that blurred the boundaries between the worlds of the living and the dead, bringing forth nightmarish creatures into a fragmented world on the brink of collapse.

Not much is known about the project since its original announcement. The original game featured an ensemble cast that included Norman Reedus, Mads Mikkelsen, Léa Seydoux, Guillermo del Toro, and Margaret Qualley. It’s unknown if any of them will return for the feature film.

Death Stranding has no set release date
