Today, a report announced that writers Jonathan E. Steinberg and Dan Shotz are set to showrun a new Power Rangers live-action series for Disney+. The duo worked together on Percy Jackson & The Olympians for the studio. They also worked on several adult shows like The Old Man on FX and Black Sails on Starz.

The Power Rangers brand has had many network TV shows since the 1990s, including a 2017 feature film. Fans praised the movie, but it didn’t make much at the box office, which ruined its chances of sequels featuring fan-favorite Tommy Oliver/Green Ranger. Hasbro Entertainment will help produce the project alongside Walt Disney and 20th Century Television. Whether this series will be more grounded like the movie or kid-friendly like the original shows in the 90s is unknown.

Power Rangers will stream exclusively on Disney+
