Today, a report announced that director Kitao Sakurai will now helm the Street Fighter live-action movie. He takes over directing duties from previously attached horror directors, The Philippou Brothers. Sakurai is best known for writing and directing The Eric Andre Show and Twisted Metal. Capcom is heavily involved in this adaptation alongside co-producers Legendary Pictures and Sony. No cast has been announced yet in the lead roles.
Street Fighter will hit theaters on March 20th, 2026
