‘Percy Jackson’ Season 2 Adds Tamara Smart as Thalia Grace

Today, Walt Disney announced that actress Tamara Smart has joined the cast of Percy Jackson and the Olympians in season 2. She will play a fan-favorite character, Thaila Grace, a demi-god and daughter of Zeus. Lance Reddick originally played Zeus in season 1 before passing away. Ironically, Smart played his daughter in the Netflix series Resident Evil before it was canceled. Original author and executive producer Rick Riordan added:

“Thalia Grace is one of the most important characters in the Percy Jackson universe, so the right casting was critical. Thalia is a powerful warrior, a fiercely loyal friend, and a demigod rebel with a very ‘punk’/‘rage-against-the-machine’ sensibility. As soon as we saw Tamara Smart play this role, we knew we had found our daughter of Zeus. She was, no pun intended, electric.”

Percy Jackson season 2 is currently filming in Vancouver and will run through the new year.

Percy Jackson will return to Disney+ sometime in late 2025
