Open Casting Begins For HBO’s ‘Harry Potter’ TV Series For Harry, Ron and Hermione

Today, Warner Brothers announced that an open casting call has gone out for the lead roles of Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger in the upcoming Harry Potter TV series remake. The roles will be for actors between 9 and 11 years old and must be from the United Kingdom & Ireland. Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson made the roles famous for the original films in the early 2000s. Production is slated to begin in April 2025, with season 1 covering the first novel in the Wizarding World book series. Showrunner Francesca Gardiner, alongside director Mark Mylod, will spearhead the upcoming series over the next decade.
