Percy Jackson and The Olympians are gearing up casting for their upcoming second season on Disney+. The next season will begin filming this fall in Vancouver and will cover the second book in the series, Sea of Monsters. Now, a casting call has gone out for two important characters from the second novel, including Tyson and Thalia. Tyson is the half-brother of Percy and also part Cyclops, while Thalia is the daughter of Zeus. Moving forward, both play pretty significant roles in the series.

[Tyson] – Open to all ethnicities, between the ages of 15 to 18. He is big and tall, but with a heart just as big as he is. He is biologically 8 years old, but looks like a fully developed human teenager due to the Mist. His powers are invulnerability to fire, enhanced hearing, and ability to mimic voices. SERIES REGULAR.

[Thalia] – Open to all ethnicities, between the ages of 15 to 18. She’s the daughter of Zeus who gave her life to protect her friends, 6 years prior to the series, but was saved by her father and turned into a tree. She has a tough and prickly personality and is described as being a punk or rebel. She will be a recurring guest star in Season 2, but with the potential for more in future seasons.

Star Walker Scobell once suggested to The Direct that actress Momona Tamada should play the role of Thalia, as the two co-starred together in the Paramount+ movie Secret Headquarters. However, Tamada will most likely be unavailable as she will already be filming both season 2 and season 3 of Avatar: The Last Airbender as Ty Lee during this time.
