Today, a report announced that Ralph Ineson has joined the cast of Marvel Studios’ upcoming adaptation of The Fantastic Four. Ineson will play the world-devouring space god Galactus. Last year, the studio was looking at several Spanish actors for the role, including Antonio Banderas and Javier Bardem, but both passed on the role. The character appeared towards the end of 2007’s Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer but was often criticized for becoming a random space cloud instead of a comic-accurate humanoid giant.

Another smaller story revealed that actor John Malkovich joined the cast in an unknown role, much like Paul Walter Hauser last week. Marvel’s first family includes Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach, as Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Johnny Storm, and Ben Grimm. Julia Garner will also appear as the female Silver Surfer, though Norrin Radd is also expected to appear. Matt Shakman will direct the film as production begins later this summer in the UK.

The Fantastic Four hits theaters on July 25th, 2025
