Late last month, rumors began that a Teen Titans movie was developing at the new DC Studios under James Gunn. Now, the story has been confirmed, as screenwriter Ana Nogueira has been tapped to pen the script. She is already part of the brain trust at DC Studios. She previously wrote a screenplay for Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow and recently announced to star Milly Alock (House of the Dragon).

Unsurprisingly, the Titans will get a feature film after the live-action Max series was canceled following its 4th season last May. That series tried to make the Titans more grown-up and edgy, emphasizing language and violence. It’s unknown how dark this feature film will be, but the Titans have always been a staple of DC Comics with an ever-changing line-up including Robin, Speedy, Kid Flash, Superboy, and Aqualad. Eventually, fan-favorites Raven, Starfire, Beast Boy, and Cyborg were added during the animated series’ acclimation in the early 2000s. No director or production date has been announced yet.
