Casting has been underway for a new Supergirl for the last month. The character already appeared in last year’s The Flash, played by Sasha Calle, but will now be rebooted into James Gunn’s new DC Universe. Several actresses have auditioned for the role, including Emilia Jones (Locke & Key) and Meg Donnelly (voice of Supergirl in Legion of Superheroes).

However, House of the Dragon breakout star Milly Alcock will star as the Woman of Tomorrow. She will first appear in Superman: Legacy before spinning off to her own film. No director has been attached to the Supergirl solo film, but playwright Ana Nogueira will write it. Production on Superman: Legacy starts this year in Atlanta.

Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow has no set release date
