Today marks the official birthday of Clark Kent, according to DC’s “Super Calendar” in 1976. Today also marks the very first day of production in Norway (and then Atlanta) on the upcoming reboot of the DC Cinematic Universe. The film was originally titled Superman: Legacy and will star David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan. However, director James Gunn has announced the film will be retitled and called Superman. He also revealed the new logo of Superman’s super suit, which has been altered from the classic S in past films. The first script table read happened last week in Atlanta, as the remainder of the ensemble cast includes Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Milly Alcock as Kara Zor-el, and Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen. As well as Sara Sampaio, María Gabriela De Faría, Nathan Fillion, Isabela Merced, Edi Gathegi, Anthony Carrigan, and Terence Rosemore.

Superman hits theaters on July 11th, 2025
