Earlier today, we at Knight Edge Media had heard a rumor that actor Steven Yeun (The Walking Dead, Beef) may have exited Marvel Studios Thunderbolts film. He was slated to play the all-powerful character Sentry. The reason was originally unknown but several suggested it could have been Yeun discussing the role with Robert Kirkman while making Invincible season 2.

Now, The Hollywood Reporter has since confirmed the actor’s departure. It simply came down to a scheduling conflict due to the WGA & SAG strikes of last summer. Production on the film was pushed a full year from July 2023 to July 2024 forcing Yeun to step away. Hopefully, he returns in the future for another Marvel character.

Thunderbolts is currently slated to hit theaters
