Today, Marvel Studios released their latest installment into the MCU with a Captain Marvel sequel film, The Marvels. The film follows the three leads, Captain Marvel (Brie Larson), Captain Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris), and Ms. Marvel (Iman Vellani), as they battle a Kree warrior across the galaxy. During the emotional and climatic end of the film, Monica Rambeau sacrifices herself to close a tear in the multiverse. She is trapped from the main 616 universe by closing the second universe.

In a post-credit scene, we learn she is still alive but on a separate Earth (Fox Universe?) from an alternate reality. Her mother’s variant, Maria Rambeau (who is dead in the 616 universes from cancer), is with her in a hospital, but she doesn’t know who Monica is. Then, fully CGI X-Men member Beast enters the hospital room, which is revealed as the X-Mansion. Kelsey Grammer from X-Men: The Last Stand returns to voice the character and check on Monica. He mentions he will alert Charles Xavier that Monica is finally awake. It’s unknown which earth Monica is on as Earth-838 had Wanda murder Charles Xavier and that version of Captain Marvel/Maria Rambeau.
