After months of searching, director James Gunn has narrowed down his shortlist of actors for both Clark Kent and Lois Lane in his upcoming DC Studios reboot Superman: Legacy. According to The Hollywood Reporter, actors David Corenswet (Pearl), Jacob Elordi (Euphoria), and Nicholas Hoult (Renfield, The Menu) are all up for Clark Kent. Hault was also up for Bruce Wayne back during the casting phase for The Batman that eventually went to Robert Pattinson.
As for Clark Kent’s spunky Daily Planet news reporter girlfriend Lois Lane, the shortlist includes Emma Mackey (Barbie, Sex Education), Rachel Brosnahan (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel), Phoebe Dynevor (Bridgerton), and Samara Weaving (Scream VII). Lex Luthor is expected to appear in the film as well and was rumored to be Hoult. Though Deadline (via Twitter) has refuted that part of the story and confirmed he is up for Clark Kent as well. It should be noted that while these names have been mentioned the studio could still go with a complete unknown in these roles. Production is expcted to begin in early 2024.
Superman: Legacy is slated to hit theaters on June 2025
